Amherstburg Dental Family Dentistry, Dr. Zeljko Veselinovic, Dr. Jerri Ann Buxton, and Dr. Sal Peralta wish to congratulate our very own dental assistant, Samantha Pretty, who pretty much froze her assistant off when she participated in the 2011 Polar Bear Dip. For those unfamiliar with what a Polar Bear Dip is, it is a fundraising event where pledges push participants to plunge into the icy depths to raise money for their favourite charities. Samantha was one of several hundred participants on January. The event raised $64,000.00 by the dippers alone and the dinner dance extravaganza hosted later that evening raised an additional $18,000.00. Our Samantha personally raised $235.00 for the charity. ChildCan is an organization that supports children with cancer to help out their parents with the financial burden it costs to be with their kids during treatment. Whether it be costs from parking to lodging while their children are receiving treatment, ChildCan helps out with all these costs. A wonderful cause. Good Job Samantha!!! We are proud of you. Samantha has challenged the rest of our staff and dentists to take the plunge with her again next year. We’ll see what happens…I think I still have a wetsuit somewhere.
