Congratulations to Dr. Jerri Ann Buxton for completing the Detroit Free Press marathon on Sunday October 17th, 2010. Dr. Buxton ran the 1/2 Marathon which is 21km and it took her 2 1/2 hours to complete. A wonderful accomplishment for Dr. Buxton which should show all of us that you can stay in shape, be healthy, balance a full time career and a family life. Dr. Buxton trains a minimum of four times per week at least an hour a day. For larger marathons like the Chicago Marathon (pictured below) it takes her about 4 months of preparation to get ready for the challenges of the race. Last October she ran the Chicago Marathon which is 42km in 5 hours. Being with and running with a lot of people in a huge crowd is one of her biggest motivating factors. Setting goals and accomplishing those goals is a paramount philosophy in her daily life.
Her next Marathon is in Orlando in January of 2011. She’s promised pictures and we’ll keep you posted.
Regards….Dr. Zeljko
